Went to game#2 tonight. Tough game for the Hogs but even tougher for the umpire. Two things I've never seen before. First, a FW player (Bell) claimed he was hit by a pitch and started to take 1st base. Problem is, the pitch was nowhere near him. Tucker couldn't believe it. The ump finally asked the other crewmembers for help and got the call right and the batter came back and later struck out.
Second, the ump forgot the pitch count late in the game when Jenkins was in to pitch. It was 1-2 (1 ball, 2 strikes) but he called it 2-2. Again, had to get help from his crew. Poor Tucker. He looked shocked.
In this light it is understandable why Pete got tossed later for a bad call at the plate.
